GIT Academy now conducts the Mesra Malaysia Course, the MOTAC hospitality training module that replaced the older We Are The Host (WATH) programme used since 2014.
The one-day course is a mandatory prerequisite for anyone applying for a MOTAC Tourist Guide Licence, and can only be taught by instructors certified as Mesra Malaysia Master Trainers under MOTAC. GIT Academy’s trainers meet this certification requirement.
The course gives frontliners a grounding in the current direction of Malaysia’s tourism industry, strong customer service skills, and effective communication techniques — skills MOTAC is pushing nationwide through its 2026 “Kempen Mesra Malaysia” campaign, launched in February at KL Sentral ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.
GIT Academy students can now complete this requirement alongside their main Tourist Guide Course intake, rather than sourcing it separately, and receive an official Course Participation Certificate issued directly by MOTAC.
