Beyond classroom lessons, GIT Academy’s Tourist Guide Course includes hands-on field training at real tourism sites across the Klang Valley and beyond — giving students the chance to practise live guiding before sitting their MOTAC practical examination.
Recent cohorts have completed heritage walks along Kuala Lumpur’s River of Life, cultural immersion sessions with a traditional lion dance troupe, and practical tourism-product briefings at venues including Royal Selangor Pewter and Farm in the City.
Students have also joined industry exposure events such as the Ni Hao China Travel Fair, giving them direct contact with tour operators, travel agencies and other players in the wider tourism trade — experience that complements the route management, storytelling and audience engagement skills practised on-site.
These field sessions are built directly into the Tourist Guide Course curriculum, so every student graduates with hands-on guiding experience, not just classroom theory, ahead of their MOTAC examinations.
Details on upcoming intakes are available on the Tourist Guide Course page.
