GIT Academy Strengthens Tourist Guides’ Emergency Response Skills with First Aid Course
GIT Academy successfully conducted its First Aid Knowledge While Tourist Guiding course on 22 July 2026, drawing 20 participants eager to sharpen their emergency-response skills for the field.
Held at GIT Academy’s premises in Wisma LTS, Jalan Pudu, the afternoon session was led by experienced first aid and emergency response trainer Mr. Govinda Ram, and coordinated by Ms. Yap PY.
The course covered essential ground for anyone leading tour groups — from the basic principles of first aid and CPR awareness, to managing common medical emergencies like fainting, cuts, sprains, and heat exhaustion, as well as emergency communication procedures when coordinating with the relevant authorities.
Participants moved beyond theory with hands-on demonstrations and real-life case studies, giving them practical confidence in handling unexpected incidents while on tour. Feedback from the session was overwhelmingly positive, with many participants noting a new sense of confidence in staying calm and acting quickly when it matters most.
The training reflects GIT Academy’s continued commitment to developing well-rounded, professional tourist guides — ready not just to showcase Malaysia, but to keep every traveller safe along the way.
