KLCC & Petronas Twin Towers Visit

On 9 August 2026, GIT Academy Tourist Guide Course students visited KLCC and the Petronas Twin Towers as part of Merdeka Month celebrations, led by trainer Dr Samantha Yap.

The visit began with the classic photo stop at KLCC Park, with the Petronas Twin Towers rising behind the park’s fountains — one of Kuala Lumpur’s most iconic and most-photographed views, and a must-know spot for any tourist guide working the city. Students then moved inside to Suria KLCC, where National Day and Malaysia Day decorations filled the concourse in celebration of Merdeka Month, giving the visit an extra festive backdrop.

Dressed in batik for the occasion, students explored the mall’s public spaces and practised the kind of orientation and commentary a guide would deliver at one of Malaysia’s most-visited landmarks — from the towers’ famous double-decker Skybridge to the surrounding KLCC precinct.

Visits to signature landmarks like this give students first-hand familiarity with a site nearly every visiting tourist wants to see, while tying the experience to the national pride of Merdeka Month — exactly the kind of context a guide can weave into their commentary to make a standard photo stop feel more meaningful.
